The rise of Poverty in the UK and Its causes

In this show we look at Poverty, specifically in the UK. While for many this would seem an odd topic, after all Adam Smith the intellectual forefather of Capitalism was from the British Isles, and it was Britain that was at the forefront of promoting Capitalism globally even to this day.
Capitalism, as the ideological soul of Britain, pushed for production of wealth and is a political ideology focused and geared towards increasing capital (money) in society and for the country at large.

Many of today’s common wealth countries and ex-colonies of the old British Empire are still intertwined into trade agreements with new Britain as the capitalist central hub. With a political ideology geared towards wealth production, how can we expect poverty in Britain? Straight Talk looks into the extent of this poverty within the UK.

While the DNA of Capitalism runs through the political and social makeup of Western countries, Britain’s brand of Capitalism focuses on the service sector which is regarded as the highest profit yield sector compared to the more traditional agricultural and industrial sectors. Britain has also specialised towards the finance sector. Are there specific problems with Britian’s brand of Capitalism or is there a more fundamental issue behind Poverty in the UK?
