The European Referendum – What’s in it for the Muslim’s

The formation of a unified super state, formed from unifying the nation states (of Europe) into one region state has constantly seen governments across Europe pushing for the super state project with opposition from the people at most and difficulty convincing the public, atleast.

The inverse opposite can be said to be true of the Muslim world, where nationalism is relatively weak as compared to in Europe, all the while secular dictators in the Muslim world block any possible political unity.

The UK government, on the other hand, has always with-held full commitment to the super state project whilst also pushing a “hard-bargain” with the EU government in Brussels. The UK government has been caught between trying to preserve its national sovereignty whilst also trying to maintain a hand in the EU for influence – both aims conflict.

Capitalism favours a more united Europe with membership across European countries, all the while fear of immigration threatens public support for the EU super state.

Join host Kuddus Ali and guests Khyrul Islam and Shahdat Hussain in making sense of the EU and its significance to Muslims.
