In Channel 4’s recent documentary, Muslims have come under the spotlight again, prompting a storm of controversy in which alleged opinions held by Muslims are cast to the wider public for scrutiny. Critics have accused Channel 4 of pushing the alarmist narrative that, exclusively, Muslims are alien in the west.

Leading this documentary is Trevor Philips, the ex-chair of Equality & Human Rights Commission, a true leftist which some have sighted as worrying signs of anti-Muslim sentiment becoming mainstream and spreading across the entire spectrum of politics whether right or left wing.
