COP26 – What is the Islamic solution for climate change?

COP26 has been in the news; some of the most powerful countries and businesses have been discussing their plans for halting climate change and moving over to the ‘green’ economy etc.

Whilst many Muslims are attending COP26, their is no discussion of Islamic solutions and does islam offer any solutions to these climate issues?

This khutbah will discuss the real problem and will show how islam has the mechanism to solve these climate issues.

Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said:

إِنَّ الدُّنْيَا حُلْوَةٌ خَضِرَةٌ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ مُسْتَخْلِفُكُمْ فِيهَا فَيَنْظُرُ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ فَاتَّقُوا الدُّنْيَا

Indeed the world is sweet and green (alluring) and verily Allah is going to install you as a vicegerent (khaleefa) in it in order to see how you act. So fear Allah regarding the world.” (Sahih Muslim)
